Dr William R G Hynds - MA MB BChir MRCGP DCH DRCOG

Will trained at Cambridge, qualifying in 1993. He has worked extensively as a locum doctor all over Cornwall before moving to Australia to sample General Practice outside the NHS.

He returned to the UK in 2007 and joined the Roseland Surgeries in May 2008. Child health, contraceptive services, minor surgery and musculoskeletal medicine are amongst his special interests but he remains keen to be seen as a generalist; is also an accredited GP trainer and a cabinet member of the Cornwall LMC. He is married to Terese and they have two young children.

Dr Terese M Tubman - BMed MRCGP DFFP

Terese trained at Newcastle University, Australia, qualifying in 1995. She completed her training in General Practice on the Roseland under Dr Campbell’s mentorship in 2001. (Dr Campbell has since retired).

Since then she has worked as a GP in Cornwall and Australia and joined the practice in 2010. She enjoys all areas of General Practice with particular interests in women’s health, mental health, nutrition and complementary therapies. Dr Tubman runs our Child Health Clinics and Family Planning.

Terese represents the practice at the Kernow Clinical Commissioning Group, and is on the Clinical Board of the Referral Management Service (RMS). She is also a Director of Kernow Health Community Interest Company (CIC). She is married to Will and they have two young children.

Dr Jonathan T Jacoby - BSc(Hons) MBBch MRCGP

After gaining a degree in biochemistry, Jon went to medical school in Cardiff, qualifying in 2005. He worked in Wales before getting a place on the GP Training Scheme in Cornwall. Following a year as the GP Registrar, he joined the partnership in October 2011.

Jon is particularly interested in the management of chronic disease and is the practice lead for training medical students. He is married to Jenny and when not at work, divides his time most unequally between playing the guitar and entertaining his young daughter.

Dr Mark Crouse - MB BCh

Dr Crouse has joined the practice covering 4 sessions a week at Portscatho and St Mawes’ Surgeries. Mark qualified in 1993 in Cardiff and he also works as a Military GP at various bases including RAF St Mawgan, HMS Raleigh and RNAS Culdrose.

He is interested in sports medicine, psychiatry and dementia.
He is married to Zoe and has two teenage children. He is a proud Cornishman and can speak a smattering of Cornish!

Dr Parag Gajera M.D. 2003

Parag graduated from Rostov State Medical University, Russia in 2003. Since graduation he worked in General Medicine in India and Russia before moving to the UK in 2009. He has trained in Acute Medicine in Cheshire and Yorkshire before starting training in General Practice in Cornwall.

His main interest is in Cardiology and Respiratory diseases. Parag is married to Katerina and is fluent in five different languages.


Practice Nursing Team

Sue Found

Sue qualified as a nurse in Lancashire in 1987, initially working in Care of the Elderly and as a Community Nurse.

She started practice nursing in 1991 and joined the Roseland surgeries in 1997. Her special interest areas are in health promotion (in particular smoking cessation), in diabetic care and childhood immunisation.

She has also completed respiratory,cardiac and family planning courses.

Jessica Lord

Jessica is a relatively new addition to our Practice Nurse team and is currently working through her Diploma in Practice Nursing. Jess is a fully qualified nurse and previously looked after patients at Treliske in the Cardiac Care Unit. Working in Primary Care requires specific skills which are not taught in a hospital setting and Jess will complete her training by Spring 2017.


Other Staff at Roseland Surgeries

Nicola Davies - Practice Manager

Nicola joined the surgery at the beginning of May 2015. She has 33 years’ experience in Primary Care, the last 20 in Practice Management, and previously worked as a Practice Manager in Gloucestershire. Nicola also has an MA in Medical Law and Ethics and is also a Speaker for a training company, providing help and support for new-in-post receptionists. Nicola is responsible for the general running of the three practices, looking after clinicians, patients and staff. If you need to discuss any of the care you receive at any of our surgeries with her, please contact her directly at her base at Portscatho Surgery.

Secretarial Support

We are ably supported behind the scenes by Sam Burnett, our Admin Supervisor.

Dispensary Staff

Our dispensing staff are always busy trying to sort out your medication requests. The team comprises Lynn Bagnall (Dispensary Manager), Eve Poore, Selina Milling, Mary Symons and Christina Gale. We require two working days’ notice for repeat medication requests with a slightly longer turnaround for our branch sites – this is to enable us to not only prepare the medication, but organise delivery to the branch sites. Please do allow a couple of extra days if you need to collect your medication from either Tregony or St Mawes.

Reception Staff

Front of house manning the phones and directing the doctors – our team comprises Jane Pinkney, Selina Milling, Mary Clifton, Kelly Crewes, Su Berry, Mary Symons, Christina Gale, Paula Moore and our admin apprentice Poppy Padley.

We will always do our best to accommodate your wishes if at all possible.

Suzy Hamilton - Physiotherapy

Suzy Hamilton has been working at the practice since 2006. She runs clinics at Portscatho on 2 mornings a week when she assesses and treats a large range of musculoskeletal conditions. A referral from one of the practice doctors is required before an appointment can be made.

Community Nursing Team

Our district nurses are not employed by the practice but their services are crucial for the patients who cannot make it in to the surgery and they are essential team members. They are based at Probus Surgery but can be contacted through Portscatho reception (01872 580345). We are also supported by our Community Matron, Andrea Trewhela, who looks after the chronic disease management of our more infirm patients in the community.

Counsellor

We have several trained counsellors serving the practice through an umbrella organisation called Outlook SouthWest (www.outlooksw.co.uk require a referral through their GP or health visitor. The referral will initially be assessed by Outlook SouthWest and then an appointment will be scheduled with an appropriately trained counsellor or psychologist.

Drugs and Alcohol Support

Our drug and alcohol support is provided by Addaction counsellors (www.addaction.org.uk). They can be accessed through direct referral from one of our GP’s or Addaction can be directly contacted on 01579 340616.

Health Visitor

Our health visitor is Fleur Shaw. As a routine all mums will have an antenatal and postnatal visit from her. In addition she runs a drop in clinic with assistance from the nursery nurses for any concerns in the 0-5yr age group at Portscatho. She can be contacted directly on 01872 221700.

Midwife

Julie Wheatley is the designated midwife for the Roseland and Probus area. She can be contacted through the surgery reception on 01872 580345.
