Dispensing
We are a dispensing practice which means that if you live more than a mile away from a chemist you can pick up your medications from us at any of our surgery sites to suit you when a prescription is issued rather than having to take the prescription elsewhere. We keep our main stock of medications at Portscatho but have a supply of regularly used items at both our branch surgeries. We will always endeavour to supply what is required on the spot but occasionally may have to order something unusual in or ship it over from Portscatho.
Repeat Prescriptions
How to order
- Online via SystmOnline
- By hand – bring your repeat slip with the required items ticked to whichever surgery is nearest to you and we will process it swiftly. Your medications should be available for pick up 5 working days later (slightly longer than previously due to issues with getting the medication from our suppliers)
- By post – as above except you can post the slip to us. Please allow extra time for postal delays.
- By email – If you wish to request your medications by email please ensure you include all of the following information (there will be a delay if the required information is not given):-Full Name, Date of Birth, Address, Medication name and strength plus details of where you wish to collect your medication from. You can either send us an email from your usual email program to this address: ([email protected]) or click here to use our automated submission service.
Please allow 5 working days prior to collecting your medication. If you wish to collect your medication from a site other than Portscatho please allow a little longer for transportation. If you have a mobile phone number, we will text you a short message to let you know when it is ready to be collected from your preferred site.
Non-urgent advice: We have a free delivery service for the housebound or those who struggle to collect prescriptions.
Please contact Portscatho and ask to speak to our Dispensary Manager if you wish to be placed on the housebound delivery service. Thank you.
Non-urgent advice: St Mawes Surgery
If you live in St Mawes, we are unable to dispense medication for you, but can send your prescription electronically to a pharmacy of your choice. Please order your medication in the usual way (in writing/online email etc.) and let us know which pharmacy you would like to use.
